Thanksgiving/Christmas/My Birthday In San Antonio

Whoa that title is a mouthful! We left for La Vernia bright and early on Thursday morning. We got to visit with my Grandma, Aunt Diane, Uncle Mike, Abby, Will, Matthew, and Gaga. On Friday Zoe and I went to visit Rob at Heights Tuxedo and had lots of good leftovers. That evening we met the Joneses at the JW Marriott to exchange gifts. Matthew and Zoe even got to make their own stuffed animals! We walked around and looked at the lights before dinner. 

On Saturday I was very busy. I had appointments all day. I was able to grab some Bill Miller's for lunch in between shopping and appointments. After my busy day I met up with family and friends at Paesano's for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious as usual and the company was even better. Zoe was so tired she ran to the bedroom and was trying to get into the pack and play on her own when we got home. The next morning we slept in and lounged around. On our way out of town we stopped by Starbucks for my free birthday drink. I even got to take a nap in the car! We met the Strawn's at Ephesus for dinner and everyone loved it. We all had Turkish beer/wine. It was the perfect ending to a perfect long weekend with family and friends.

Mom's Birthday Weekend in Dallas/ Red River Rivalry

We have had an extra long weekend. Nick had Friday off and he took today off. We lounged around all morning and then we went to have lunch at Ephesus Mediterranean Grill with Zoe. 

Now onto our fabulous weekend away! My mom came in town Wednesday night because she had been furloughed. On Thursday we took Zoe to lunch at Zoë's Kitchen and then ran some errands and did some shopping. We ordered a pizza so I wouldn't have to cook or clean before going out of town. We left as early as possible on Friday morning for our drive to Dallas. We had a great drive with no traffic which was surprising for OU weekend.

Abby made us a great dinner of steak, baked potatoes, and fresh green beans. Will grilled the steaks for us. We all had a bit of red wine and bundt cake for my mom's birthday. The next morning we lounged around and ate breakfast. Mom, Will, Zoe, and Matthew went on a walk while the girls took that opportunity to shower and get ready. Abby put together a lot of yummy treats for us to snack on while we watched the game. Well, we mostly watched the game while watching the kids, putting them down for naps, etc.

The chocolate covered strawberries were made by Will and Abby and covered in orange and red sprinkles.

Of course we had to have red and orange mimosas!

After the game more naps were taken, there was some playing outside, dinner, and then we watched a movie.

Helping Uncle Will transfer all of Grandma's photos to a thumb drive. (The kids were literally on opposite nap schedules- generally only one was awake at a time. That is why I only have one of them both! :( My mom has more on her thumb drive and she will be emailing more to me so I can update this when I get them).

On Sunday morning we made a quick trip to church. Uncle Will played with Zoe on the playground the entire time while us girl's enjoyed the service. After church we had to leave so my mom could drive home to San Antonio. The drive back was good even though there was some rain. I never feel like there is enough time in just a weekend but it was so good to see my nephew, Abby, and Will. We will get to see them next month and also the month after that and I'm looking forward to it!

What We Did: Nick's Birthday

Hello everyone! Yesterday was my husband's birthday so we were busy celebrating all day. There were a few errands thrown in there too.

We started by having lunch at Rudy's with some family. Sorry I do not have any pictures of this. I was busy tearing up chicken into tiny pieces for Zoe. After lunch we went to my in-laws house to open presents and have cake pops. They were not very pretty but they tasted good! Since we were close to Babies-R-Us we decided to swing by to get some baby- proofing supplies. My husband then decided that he HAD to do a bit of yard work so he spent some time outside.

Zoe finally decided she couldn't wait for Dada to open his presents. He came over and helped her finish ripping the wrapping paper off. Yes, that is leftover Valentine's Day paper. Just trying to use up what I had! Zoe gave him a bicycle trailer and I gave him a helmet for Zoe to wear in the trailer. :) Of course, he immediately put it together. I will share a picture when we actually use it!
