Water Table and Push-Ups

After Zoe and I had lunch today we went to Walmart to try to find a water table. I looked online and Target and Learning Express were both out of stock so Walmart was my last option. I really don't like going there but I am still Toys R Us free and I intend to be forever. I thought about getting Zoe a water table at the beginning of summer but we were out of town, then we were both sick, and then Zoe went through a phase where she was NOT into water at all. She would scream during baths, a shower I took with her, and she wouldn't even go near the giant inflatable kiddie pool. Luckily, my mom got her to like baths again and she has been great with water ever since. I got the last water table at Wal-Mart! The box was a little banged up but all the parts were there and intact. I also got the last Bubble Guppies toy along with some other little toys to add to it. Zoe loves that show (mostly the theme song and the songs they sing throughout) and when I saw the toy played music I knew I had to get it for her.

Next we stopped by Ulta. I was happy to see that it was not crowded. I had my list on my phone so I made my way through the store and found all but one thing- the main thing I went there for! I got the Anastasia Brow Wiz, Eos lip sphere in Lemon Drop, a beauty blender, Maybelline Color Whisper in Bare to be Bold, three Real Techniques brushes (foundation, flat, and finishing), Revlon Colorstay quad in Brazen, Nyx HD Cream Concealer in yellow, and Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray. I went in for Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo Powder but they were out so I picked up the small spray. I sprayed a bit on my hand and I loved the texture and it was clear so that was a big plus. The powder is white so I really have to work at blending it into my dark hair. I will be using it tomorrow (on my third day hair- like I have time to wash, dry, and style my long, thick hair on a daily basis!) so I can give my initial thoughts on it. I am really excited to try everything because they have all been highly recommended by various blogs I read or YouTube channels I subscribe to.

After Zoe's afternoon nap I made her dinner and prepped dinner for Nick and I to eat later. After she had her dinner we headed to the driveway to play with the water table. We also both enjoyed a Push-Up! I think Zoe would have played with the water table all night if I let her but soon after Nick got home we went in to have dinner. Whoever invented those things is a genius. I wasn't sure how interested she would be in it but she really took to it. After dinner Nick went to the gym. Zoe played with her new Bubble Guppies toy and was loving the music on a rerun of the BET Awards.

OOTD: Thursday

Today was story time at the library. It was a packed house but I'm guessing that was because some kiddos are out of school for the summer. Zoe enjoyed it, as usual and carried her two books around the entire time. I ate lunch and did some laundry while she took her first nap. After I gave her lunch we played around the house. I also fit in some more laundry and cleaning during that time. I started dinner while she took her second nap (tacos and Spanish rice from scratch). Zoe took her time eating (actually she was dumping the contents of her plate onto her try and the floor) so I was able to run a load of dishes in the dishwasher. Nick played with her for a bit before he went to get more pictures of the three planets. She seemed tired so I put her down early and folded more laundry (yes, MORE). She played quietly for almost an hour and just fell asleep. I also gave myself a coconut oil hair mask and had a glass of red wine- cheers!

So this is what I wore to story time at the library today. I knew I was going to wear the hat because I wouldn't have time to wash my hair in the morning. I actually wore a v-neck short sleeved shirt but I got a chocolate stain on it so I took it off to remove the stain. I like this tank better though. I don't know why the hat looks so odd in this picture. I promise it looks better in person! Also, the flip flops weren't comfortable for sitting on the floor either! Next time I will just go barefoot.

OOTD: Story Time

Today Zoe and I just went to story time at the library but I wanted to share the few pics I got of her (of course I forgot my phone when we went to the library) and this meatloaf recipe. I love this version instead of the ketchup one. I tried to find one that resembled the one I make and this was the closest I could find. I don't use veal or pork, no hot sauce, and no heavy cream. I also add regular mustard. I use bacon bits instead of real bacon and I use bread slices instead of bread crumbs. This recipe can also be made with ground turkey. If you use grass fed beef make sure to adjust the cooking time as it cooks much faster than other kinds of meat. This is always a hit in our house!

So sorry but this is the only shot I could get of my outfit. My husband (who normally takes my pictures) was at happy hour and I put on my pj's before he got home. The shoes I wore are below. And, for the record, they were not comfortable for story time because the little buckles were uncomfortable to sit on.

Today Zoe and I started our day with story time at the library. Miss Judy is still on vacation but we had fun with Miss Charity. We also got to catch up with some friends. Zoe took an unusually long nap afterwards while I cleaned and ate lunch. After her lunch we headed to Target to return something and get a few things for this weekend. (Turns out Uncle Erik and Aunt Regina are coming next weekend but my mom is coming in town tomorrow!) We stayed in after our Target excursion because it was drizzling with a forecast of more rain. We never got that rain but we did get a power outage while I was putting together this post. Nick was on top of it though and called the electric company right away and there was a message saying it would be back on by 10. Thankfully, it was on an hour earlier than that. Of course, I thought the worst- zombie apocalypse and was slightly anxious. Nick played on his phone while I played on my iPad. We seriously need a deck of cards, some board games, and unscented candles so we are prepared for the next power outage.

This is one of the tops I got over the weekend at Nordstrom. I saw it on a sales girl in the shoe department and when I spotted it upstairs I knew I had to get it. The sides are split so a tank top or bandeau is a must. I also got this necklace over the weekend at New York and Company. I had been wanting a flower statement necklace but they all seemed so expensive. I don't know about y'all but I don't like spending a lot on trendy costume jewelry. And all of my real jewelry (diamonds, my watch, etc) have been gifts that I wear on a daily basis, over the years, or things I will pass on to Zoe one day.

Well, it's been a very busy week with Zoe walking. She has been zooming all over the place! I swear she was power-walking today. I know she will be running around in no time. Of course, with her being so active I haven't been able to get as many pictures. I do have videos on my YouTube channel though.

The cold front is still here so I had to dig out a long sleeved short. I paired the grey top with the neon jeans so my look would be more springy. Zoe and I went to story time at the library this morning and had a great time playing and talking with other moms. After that we took a quick trip to Target (I promise I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I just go there A LOT). Zoe won over all of the cashiers and they gave her a sticker which promptly went in her mouth. After her nap, my lunch, and her lunch we went outside to play because it turned out to be a beautiful day.

Today was COLD! I was not a happy camper. But I had to brave the elements for Story Time and Target. Every Thursday morning Zoe and I go to Story Time at a local library. Zoe loves the songs, books, and interacting with all the other kids. I have to dress cool and comfortable because it gets hot with all those kids running around and I'm sitting on the floor most of the time. So, even though it was cold I opted for comfortable flats and threw on my army jacket over my outfit.
