Fun Friday

Today was a great, relaxing day at home. Zoe and I had breakfast together while Nick slept in. Zoe took an extra long morning nap and after Nick woke up he went to pick up lunch from Zoë's Kitchen. We all had lunch together and then our good friend Lauren and her baby Walker came to visit. We got out a few of Zoe's things that she used when she was younger for Walker to use. He was rolling over on the play mat and he picked up cruising in the walker pretty quickly. When Zoe realized she could push Walker around she started doing that and they both had a great time. We had fun just talking and catching up with Lauren. And we were so happy to finally meet Walker. Zoe was obviously worn out because she took another long afternoon nap. Nick went to stargaze with his telescope so Zoe and I had a night in. She was practicing climbing on the couch and getting back down.

Zoe woke me up early this morning- the little stinker. But that's ok because I went to bed early last night after my glass of wine. We ate breakfast together and I started to get ready while she took her nap. Her nap was so long that I was about to scavenge for leftovers when she woke up. So I took that opportunity to go to Zoë's Kitchen for lunch. It was extremely crowded when we got there. It was so bad it was hard to find parking. While we were waiting in line I decided we would get our food to-go and I also got two extra meals for dinner. Zoe and I walked around outside while we waited for my food. Or rather, Zoe walked up to every table and stared until the people sitting acknowledged her and then she would start laughing. We talked to pretty much every person she went up to. Then she discovered her reflection in the windows and would smile and laugh while the customers inside waved to her. After that we stopped by CVS for some random things and picked up Nick's dry cleaning. We had a late lunch together and Zoe played a bit before I put her down for her second nap. She then played for another hour in her crib. She finally fell asleep and we all had a late dinner together. My meal came with a Greek salad so Nick had that along with the quesadillas and fruit that Zoe didn't finish from her dinner. Love those nights when I don't have to cook or clean!

Sorry but this is the only OOTD photo you are getting. It's been a long day and my husband was out with his telescope again. It was SO hot today. I was sweating every time I got out of the car. But these shorts are very comfortable and they are long enough for mommy duty.

Today I woke up before Zoe! That normally doesn't happen but I caught up on reading some blogs as I watched her on the monitor. After her morning nap I decided we would go out to lunch. We ended up going to Chili's because all of the fast food places were packed! I'm talking lines out to the street and no parking spaces. Everyone decided to have fast food at 2:30 this afternoon which I find strange. So we had a quick lunch at Chili's and then stopped by Target. I had to get Zoe a dress for a wedding we are going to and I also found a cute pair of sandals in her size (which was a miracle because her size is always the most scarce). Of course, I also picked up some other clothes for her and some random groceries. My husband came home from work early so we played with Zoe until she took her second nap. We took that opportunity to take naps too! My husband had a few hard things to pick up so Zoe and I had dinner while he was out and played with the iPad. After Zoe went to bed we caught up on our DVR.

OOTD: Friday + My Mom's Here!

Zoe and I stayed home this morning because it rained like CRAZY. There was flooding, lightning striking houses, and it was pitch black. Luckily I was too busy with Zoe to even notice. We had fun at home though. She was great, as usual, so I got more cleaning and laundry done today. Nick got home from work early so we all played until my mom got here. She brought me my favorite tamales and now I won't have to cook much this weekend! After that we all went out to have Mexican food. 

It's hard to get a good picture of both of us now that Zoe just wants to walk around.

And she looks like she's about to take off here.

Here I am in yet another army pants/flip flops combo. They are just so comfortable! Obviously I dressed them down today but I have more ideas for dressing them up. And I love this tee. The saying cracks me up! When I saw it it totally reminded me of the "ship my pants" commercial, which I happen to think is hilarious. I also went with the beachy waves again and per recommendation of a Facebook friend I pinned my bangs back.

OOTD: Friday + Target Mini Haul + Naps, or Lack Thereof

I have been struggling with getting Zoe back on schedule since Monday and today she is REALLY back on track! Yesterday I did not get much done. Zoe slept well (about 11 hours) and we went to story time at the library. I didn't get any pictures of Zoe because another little girl kept trying to take away her keys (actually MY keys with a Hello Kitty keychain). So I was watching them both like a hawk. Zoe didn't seem tired but we left because I knew I had things to do around the house and errands. The little stinker fell asleep in the car so she must have been exhausted. I tried putting her down in her crib but she wasn't having it. She played in her crib for about an hour and when she started fussing I went to get her. So I let her play and then we ate lunch. I let her play again and put her down at 2:30 which is totally not her second nap time but I knew she was tired. She fell asleep immediately and I thought she would sleep 2-3 hours. Boy was I wrong. She only slept 30 minutes. I'm guessing this was because she was over tired. She fussed for 30 minutes so I went to get her. She played, got fussy and I tried to get her to go to sleep on me. We repeated this process a few more times. My saint of a husband brought dinner home and Zoe played a bit after eating before finally going down in a blaze of glory at 8:15. Whew- that was a longer story than I anticipated!

I'm happy to report that Zoe slept 11 1/2 hours last night, took a 2 hour morning nap and is currently taking her afternoon nap (YAY!). I tweaked the times a bit so I think that helped. We were on our way home from Target and I saw her dozing off so I found the most obnoxious music I could think of and blasted it. She takes after her father and I and is annoyed by rap and newer Madonna.

Today I tried out beachy waves. I don't wash my hair every day so this was a fun way to break up the monotony. 

Here is Zoe's mini haul from Target- Momma straw cup, monkey harness (Now that she is walking I would prefer for her to wear this in public. I don't care what you think of me. I would rather out my kid on a glorified leash than have her get lost or kidnapped), BabyGanics sunscreen stick (great for the diaper bag), Munchkin corner bath organizer, Boogie Wipes in grape (love these things).

And my mini haul- Revlong sparkly nail file, Goody Ouchless elastics (last time I tried to find these they had every color but brown so I bought I weird combo pack), Gud body lotion in Floral Cherrynova (LOVE this scent!), Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer (I've never tried this before), and Pixi Wakeup Concealer.

Today was another gorgeous day so Zoe and I went to the playground this afternoon. She got a real kick out of the swings which reminded me we still need to put her swing up! We also saw two turtles in the little pond. 

Zoe's shoes squeak every time she takes a step. :) (I uploaded a video to my YouTube channel for those of you that subscribe).
